Also attending from the Life Planning Center was myself, Dr. Nishitateno (director of Peace House Hospice) and Ms. Matsushima (director of education, Institute of Hospice Studies). The possible development of the Network was discussed followed by discussions about what areas we need to research or educate in hospice/palliative care in this region. Dr. Cynthia Goh had acted as chairman and Dr. Rosalie Show (English) and Dr. Maruya (Japanese) as secretaries. Even though the meeting was only two days, the discussions were very fruitful.

The Third APHNM is scheduled for Sunday, Nov.16, 1997 in Hong Kong, immediately before the Forth HK International Cancer Congress (16-19 Nov.1997).

The proceedings of the Network meeting and the summary of the presentations for the International Forum are included in this booklet for your information.

第2回の本協議会には、シンガポール、フィリピン、マレーシア、インドネシア、台湾、香港、韓国、オーストリア、ニュージーランドからの代表者に、日本から柏木哲夫教授（大阪大学）、武田文和総長（埼玉県立がんセンター）、ならびにピースハウスから私と西立野研二院長、松島たつ子ホスピス教育研究所部長らが加わり、今後のAPHNの発展と、このネットワークの中で何がホスピス活動上重要な研究ないし教育テーマであるかが協議されました。議長は、Cynthia Goh医師（シンガポール）、書記にはRosalie Shaw医師（シンガポール）ならびにライフ・プランニング・センターの丸屋真也研究教育部長が担当しました。短期間でありましたが、充実した協議がなされました。

第3回のAPHN会議は1997年11月16日（日）に香港での第4回HK International Cancer Congressに先立って開催することになりました。

第2回アジア太平洋地域ホスピス連絡協議会での討議の内容と国際フォーラムでの発題講演の要旨を本報告書に記載しして参考に供する次第です。
